Jamon and pear salad

Some flavour combinations are simply meant to be together. The sweetness of a perfectly ripe pear, the savoury richness of authentic Jamón Serrano and the freshness of crisp salad leaves create a dish that’s both elegant and effortless.

As Australia’s Hambassador for Consorcio Jamón Serrano, I’ve discovered that the finest ingredients need very little embellishment. This salad is a wonderful example. The naturally cured Jamón Serrano adds remarkable depth of flavour, while juicy pears and a bright lemon dressing keep everything beautifully balanced.

Whether you’re looking for a light lunch, an elegant starter or an easy summer dinner, this Mediterranean-inspired salad proves that simple ingredients can deliver extraordinary results.

A little about Jamón Serrano

As Australia’s Hambassador for Consorcio Jamón Serrano, I’ve had the privilege of learning firsthand about the centuries-old traditions behind Spain’s most celebrated dry-cured ham. The Consorcio Jamón Serrano Español represents producers who adhere to strict quality standards, ensuring every ham is naturally cured using traditional methods that develop its distinctive flavour and delicate texture.

Jamón Serrano is beautifully simple—just quality pork, salt, time and mountain air. Its rich umami flavour means a little goes a long way, making it a wonderful ingredient for everything from tapas to salads, sandwiches and, of course, this omelette.

Therapeutic notes

Pears

Jamón Serrano

Authentic Jamón Serrano is naturally dry-cured, creating rich umami flavour without the need for complicated preparation. A few slices add depth and protein to even the simplest dishes.

Mixed salad leaves

Leafy greens provide folate, vitamin K and antioxidants while adding freshness and texture.

Extra virgin olive oil

A quality extra virgin olive oil contributes heart-healthy monounsaturated fats and helps carry the flavours throughout the salad.
