These Christmas Bliss Balls, affectionately known in our kitchen as Christballs!, are everything a festive treat should be: rich, satisfying and naturally sweet, without relying on refined sugar or highly processed ingredients.
Made with nuts, seeds and natural fruit, they’re rich in fibre, healthy fats and plant-based goodness to keep you energised throughout the day. Perfect for lunchboxes, post-workout fuel or an afternoon pick-me-up, these no-bake energy bites are quick to make, easy to store and guaranteed to disappear fast.

Whether you’re filling the Christmas biscuit tin, preparing edible gifts for family and friends, packing snacks for summer road trips or looking for a healthier option to bring to festive gatherings, these little bites are guaranteed to disappear quickly.
Unlike traditional Christmas sweets, these bliss balls provide sustained energy from fibre, healthy fats and plant protein, helping to avoid the blood sugar rollercoaster that often comes with the festive season. They’re naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, require no baking and can be made well ahead of Christmas, making them one of the easiest recipes you’ll add to your holiday repertoire.
Roll them in coconut, chopped pistachios, crushed freeze-dried raspberries or festive sprinkles for a colourful Christmas finish, then watch everyone ask for the recipe.
Because Christmas should be about sharing good food—and feeling good afterwards.

Therapeutic notes
Christmas often means more sugar than usual, making blood sugar balance especially important.
These bliss balls pair naturally sweet dates with healthy fats, fibre and plant protein to help support steadier energy throughout the day.
Pepitas contribute zinc and magnesium for immune support, tahini adds calcium and healthy fats, while peanuts provide satisfying plant protein. Together, these whole-food ingredients help keep you fuller for longer and make a nourishing alternative to many traditional Christmas sweets.

Ingredients
- 1 cup almonds
- 1 cup macadamia nuts
- 1/2 cup currants
- 1/2 cup Medjool dates
- 2 tablespoons raw cacao
- 2 tablespoons cacao butter, melted – I use this brand
- 1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
- 1 teaspoon mesquite powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon organic vanilla essence
- Coconut for rolling
Instructions
- Place all the ingredients into a high-speed food processor and blend until the mixture comes together and holds its shape when pressed between your fingers.
- Using slightly damp hands, roll the mixture into golf ball-sized balls, then coat each one in shredded coconut.
- Place the Amazeballs on a tray lined with baking paper and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. These Amazeballs are best served chilled and are happiest kept refrigerated, as they will soften if left at room temperature for more than an hour.
